I had heard good things about this vet, so I gave it a shot when my pug was having breathing issues. Dr. Gonzalez couldn't give me a clear answer as to why my dog was gasping for air. I had to ask for an X-ray, and was told everything looked totally normal. She told me to go see another vet because she had no idea what to do. I went to Yucca Veterinary in Belen, and he looked at the X-rays and immediately noticed my dog's heart was enlarged and her lungs were filled with fluid. I'm concerned that Dr. Gonzales completely missed this and told me everything was normal. Her heart is so big it is pushing on her lungs and stomach. She promised to call her friend at Yucca Vet and get a second opinion on the x-rays, and promised to call me with his opinion. She never followed through on this and I had to get the x-rays sent to Yucca myself. I went to The Ark twice, spent over $500, and felt I wasted my money and received no help. Very disappointed is the only way I would describe my experience. The only positive is that they directed me to another vet who actually knows what he is doing.

Rude desk lady, intake doesn’t inform the front desk when you call with information. My husband had to go towards Albuquerque and the Ark is on the way. We had used them several times before with “cash-in-hand”, but this was an unexpected injury to our cat and we only get paid once a month since we are retired and on SS. They were informed as to how much cash we had. The husband stopped to pick up the cat (whose paw had been lanced and antibiotics administered) on his way home and was told it would be $609. This was WAY overpriced and they would do no arrangements even though we have excellent vet references from Colorado. We had no other choice but to walk off and let Ark possibly euthanize our cat and then probably toss him in a pile out back…I was devastated. Then a compassionate gentleman paid our bill and is letting us pay him back; and we most definitely will!!!!! He was God sent because we don’t know a lot of people and didn’t know where to turn. I love my cat with all my heart because I bottle fed him from the time his eyes weren’t even open yet; faithfully, every two hours. He was rescued from a slash pile. It is definitely a good thing Noah didn’t run God’s Ark like Socorro’s…we wouldn’t have an animal alive because God doesn’t use cash. We paid and as far as we are concerned, Socorro’s “Ark” just sank. We will take the gorgeous drive to Arenas Valley Animal Clinic in Silver City! We hear wonderful things about them! They even come to our area to serve the animals!! Goodbye Sunken Ark of Socorro!!!!!
